The Center for the New Age is pleased to present your Free Weekly Horoscope for April 26 – May 2, 2020
First Quarter Moon in Leo on April 30 places our moods in states of playfulness, indulgence and the need for self-expression and adoration. Moods reflect on the competition of who has the best, the biggest, the shiniest and the most expensive toys, cars, clothes, house and garden. Entertainment value and quality of presentation are just as important. Cool is always “in,” and requires the assurance of the proper attitude.
Mercury square Jupiter (April 26 – May 4) creates a difficult block between the media or communications industry, and the sponsors and producers of consumer goods. Another way of putting this may be to note that this block of energy flow occurs between Mercury, represented as the salesman, informant and negotiator, and Jupiter, represented as the source that allows wealth to flow: manufacturer, banker, fund raiser, etc. This is the place where one’s value is realized and assessed, and potential for growth is emphasized through the tedious process of trial and error. This is a time to be particularly cautious when looking for a job or changing jobs, asking for a raise or signing any binding contracts concerning long-term investment and payment schedules.
Mercury enters Taurus (April 27 – May 11) and communications will focus on manifesting sales and generating economic growth. In the fixed earth sign of Taurus, Mercury inspires the inclination to buy, sell, trade, barter and negotiate terms of sale. This period is a good time to clean up concerns around valuables, and to deal with issues concerning documents, contracts, speeches and business procedures.
Mercury square Saturn (April 28 – May 4) affects communications and information in a way that is timely, and often difficult to take or to get around. Mercury governs communications, and the square aspect presents an obstacle, making it difficult for information to penetrate very easily. Instead, information is likely to be stifled by obstacles getting in the way of deadlines, inasmuch as Mercury is squaring to Saturn, which represents time and the discipline that it takes to reach a goal or to summon a response necessary to accomplish a desired effect.
Free Weekly Horoscope for your Sign
Aries: As the Sun aligns with Uranus, this is not the time to hold on to what you have. The challenge now is to give away what you might feel overly attached to or to liberate yourself from a money or material concern that has been keeping you prisoner. In some way, it is time to break a pattern and to try something different. Thoughts of security should not be involved. The task placed before you now is to break free from that which enslaves or limits you so that you can express the truth of what you really are and live a life of greater freedom.
Taurus: With the Sun and Uranus side by side in your sign and hot on the heels of the New Moon (also in your sign), this is the week to break your existing patterns and try something different. Doing what you’ve always done or approaching life in the usual way will not work now. Something needs to change, and although playing it safe may seem appealing, what’s needed now is to take a risk or perhaps liberate yourself from a limiting situation. There are no guarantees of satisfaction if you move toward that which feels exciting and offers you more freedom and greater opportunity to be yourself, but you will almost certainly be heading in the right direction.
Gemini: This week, there may be no denying that you need to break free from something that has been weighing you down psychologically or emotionally. Perhaps you’ve been caught up in a particular pattern, and now is the time to change it. Maybe your intuition is calling you very loudly, you had a startling dream, or you experienced a eureka moment that has enabled you to see things much more clearly. Whatever transpired, this is likely to be an interesting week as long as you don’t try to drown out your inner voice by being overly busy. Reduce the distractions, and you will know what you need to do.
Cancer: In what ways can you make a difference? Most people think that the part they have to play is too small, that today’s pressing issues are too big for them to have any impact. But here’s a reminder of how tiny acts go a long way: I loaned a friend who had a serious illness a book by Deepak Chopra (Quantum Healing). My friend said it was absolutely fabulous and had changed his life. I remember how I lit up inside, amazed that the simple act of giving my friend a book had had a wonderful effect on another person’s life. Don’t underestimate little acts of caring; they have a habit of rippling out.
Leo: In what way does the saying “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got” apply to you? If you want to make progress, you will need to change the pattern or break the mold. If an opportunity presents itself, it would be wise to take it, even if it feels uncertain or controversial in some way. You probably can’t rely on certainty now, so if you dare to be different, take a chance, or make a move toward originality or excitement, the key is to be experimental.
Virgo: The leap across the chasm that we talked about last week becomes heightened this week as the Sun joins Uranus in your zone of adventure. This is not the time to play it safe, nor is it the time to curl up in your comfort zone and wait for things to happen. You are probably feeling a little too restless for that anyway and this restlessness is a sign that you need to move toward a new discovery. Think of yourself as an experimental adventurer – someone who has to set off on a new, previously untraveled path that will lead into uncharted territory. Don’t worry whether you have a map; you have an internal compass, and it is called your intuition.
Libra: “Good karma drags us back as relentlessly as bad karma, and the chain which is wrought from our virtues holds as firmly and as closely as that forged from our vices.” This is a controversial concept because it feels selfish to not do some good, and if someone owes us a favor, then we will have to return it in order to receive it. As the week progresses and an issue presents itself, consider whether there is something in this statement that rings true. What if you lived your life without stockpiling the brownie points? Would you be any happier? Something deep within you wants to change. That change may feel controversial, but if it leads to your liberation – psychological or otherwise – it may be a change worth contemplating.
Scorpio: The only thing we can be certain of in life is change. When we try to keep things as they are and it’s obvious that it’s time for change, that’s when problems can start. It seems as though there is a situation in your life now that is changing or needs to change. It may be that you need to release others and let them go their own way, or you may need to go your own way. Perhaps you need to break an old pattern that has been stopping you from forging deeper connections with others, or you might need to adapt to a change that feels unsettling. Whatever it is, sticking with the status quo is unlikely to get you very far. Don’t resist what is happening, for the sooner you can go with it, the sooner everything will improve.
Sagittarius: In what way could you simplify your life? Do you spend too much time on the daily commute to a job you don’t really like or too much time on screens when you could be talking to people you love? There are many ways in which modern life has complicated our existence, but the Sun’s alignment with Uranus brings the chance to see how you could liberate yourself from complexity and step into simplicity. It may start with a minor change, or you could feel that in order to break a pattern that isn’t serving you, a major shift needs to occur. From changing your job to improving your health, this is a potent week for creating new beginnings and making big changes.
Capricorn: The Sun’s alignment with Uranus is a strong indication of the need to express yourself. The urge to do this, such as speaking out or diving into a creative project, is likely to reach the boiling point this week. Something within you is trying to get out and make itself known, so don’t ignore any emerging desires. The need to be an individual is of growing importance, perhaps through the clothes you wear, your choice of hobbies, or the things you create. Recreation may also be a key theme, and it may help to remember that work isn’t everything. It might be time to rest and indulge in activities that replenish your spirit.
Aquarius: Nobody ever broke the mold by doing the same thing over and over, and this week it could become more apparent that a pattern needs to be broken or a new approach needs to be adopted. This could apply to your home life, where it looks as though the old order is breaking down, or it might refer to a problem that will be solved by taking a more experimental approach. “How could this work?” is a better question to ask than, “Why isn’t it working?” Changing your actions will change the outcome. This is a good week to make changes to your home, perhaps engage in a spring cleaning and look at how you can shift any stagnant energies to raise the vibration of your home.
Pisces: It is usually easy to see what another person needs to do to change a recurring problem. It’s not as easy to see the solutions to our own issues. However, as the Sun aligns with Uranus in your mind zone, you now have the opportunity to see yourself with much greater objectivity. It might become obvious how your thoughts and beliefs are keeping you stuck. You might even have a eureka moment in terms of what you need to do to change your situation for the better. This is an aspect of enlightenment, and the really good thing about it is that it can just strike you while you’re doing the dishes or putting out the trash. Spending hours in meditation is most likely not necessary, as Uranian inspiration strikes like a lightning bolt. Therefore, prepare yourself to be a conduit for higher inspired information that you can use for your own or others’ benefit. All that’s needed is a willingness to be open to new ideas.
