We are firmly in the eclipse portal. How did the Leo solar eclipse land for you? What did it illuminate, rearrange, or suddenly make impossible to ignore? We have a little breathing room before the Pisces lunar eclipse on the 28th, but we’re still very much moving through the territory between these two great lights.
And as if the heavens weren’t already putting on enough of a show, August 12–13 brings the peak of the Perseid meteor shower, one of the most spectacular celestial displays of the year. Meteors have long been regarded as celestial messengers—brief, brilliant interruptions in the ordinary night sky. I love the image of something suddenly streaking into our awareness, illuminating the darkness for just a moment before disappearing again. During an eclipse portal, pay attention to those flashes: an unexpected conversation, a dream, a realization, a person appearing at exactly the right moment. Sometimes illumination doesn’t arrive slowly. Sometimes it streaks across the sky.
Well, take a breath before the Pisces lunar eclipse on the 28th, because this week has plenty to say all on its own.
Monday opens with Mars at 03°59′ Cancer square Neptune at 03°59′ Aries, which can make the road ahead feel a little foggy. Mars wants movement, while Neptune dissolves boundaries and certainty. In Cancer, Mars is already operating through feeling, instinct, memory, home, and belonging; Neptune in Aries is imagining a new beginning before we necessarily know what that beginning looks like. Energy can scatter here, and our instincts can become tangled with projection, longing, or frustration.
