What is The New Age about and why did Anita Dalton start the Center For The New Age in Sedona 18 years ago? Well Wikipedia defines the New Age as a Western Spiritual movement that developed in the second half of the 20th Century. Its central precepts have been described as drawing on both Eastern and Western Spiritual and metaphysical traditions, infusing them with self help and motivational psychology, conscious research and Quantum Psychics.
The New Age aims to create a spirituality without borders. It holds to a view that Body, Mind and Spirit are interrelated. It believes in both mainstream Science and Science that hasn’t been proven yet. New Age includes elements and rituals of older spiritual and religious traditions. ,The New Age also encompasses Science, Astrology, Astronomy.Psychology and Physics.
New Age has drawn on the practices, inspirations and philosophies from most of the Worlds major religions without being limited by them. There is a belief that all things are possible and that what we call science is very by what we think we know. The more we learn, the more we realize, we know nothing or at least very little.
Some people don’t like the term New Age, because they think it labels them as different from “normal people”. In Sedona, They are called WooWoo’s. These people sometimes rename these beliefs as New Thought, Spiritualism, Age of Aquarius to name just a few.
Anita Dalton, owner of The Center For The New Age in Sedona AZ agrees with most of this definition, but knows the New Age to be something much more than all of that. She know New Age to be something much more than all of that. Its by no means a religion or even a belief. Its a feeling and an innate knowingness that we create our own reality.
