Mercury in Aquarius is square Uranus in Aries on Thursday. While Mercury is square Uranus, communications, talks, discussions and news are troubling and challenging when it comes to unusual or explosive circumstances. This is an important time to be aware of people’s tendency to make damaging and abusive comments, and to ignore them.
The Last Quarter Moon in Aries on Friday provides a period where the emotions are bright and impulsive leading to enhanced activity and rashness in deeds. This Moon brings energetic moods, but we may find that barriers may occur between emotions and our sense of personal identity. Since the Moon is in Aries, this expression of mood has little trouble emerging and creating new energies. Last Quarter Moon requires us to release pent-up emotional energy, unless of course the energy creates a desired positive response, in which case, congratulations! Dropping problems with the ego is one of the keys to this waning Moon. Overcoming tension, anxiety and grudges are other ways to work out Lat Quarter Aries Moon energy.
On Friday also, Mars in Aquarius is trine Jupiter in Gemini. Our optimism opens many doors leading to great financial, professional and educational expansion. This favorable aspect may be the time to act on opportunities as they arise and to set one’s visions and dreams into a feasible plan that holds the potential for favorable actions to occur. Mars trine Jupiter affects the actions taking place around us in a favorable and gifted way, concerned with the expansion of our livelihood and our awareness. Mars activates and stirs action while Jupiter represents not only our sense of economy and how to advance, but our sense of visionary awareness as well, allowing us to realize new talents and new means of livelihood, the intake of wealth and well being.

Free Weekly Horoscope for your Sign
Aries: As the planets align at the top of your chart, promising success in your ventures, the first week of the new year would be an opportune moment for you to contemplate what you want in 2013. It looks as though you are nearing a sense of completion and with that completion will come a new vision of your life. Your themes for 2013 include facing your fears and insecurities so that you can share more of your real self with others as well as discovering the joys of your home and family life. For some Aries, this will mean a house move or an addition to the family. For others, it will simply mean getting to experience the true joys of family life and of creating a home that nourishes the soul. At the moment, the focus is on your aims and ambitions, your future and where you’re going in life, so time spent contemplating these matters will be time well spent, because once you’re clear about what you want, there’s every indication that you’ll get it.
Taurus: As you stand at the beginning of the new year, it’s time to contemplate your big idea. Perhaps there is something that you would like to have a go at? Or maybe you have a dream or a vision but aren’t sure if it’s feasible. Your big idea might involve challenging your beliefs so that you can manifest more of your hopes and dreams. This is the theme that sets the tone for 2013, and although there are other themes that will emerge throughout the year – such as your relationships and money –it is your big idea that will benefit from your immediate attention. First though, you might have to cast off some kind of burden that might prevent you from materializing your idea. This burden could be an actual situation that is restrictive, or it could be an internal burden such as a limiting belief. Once you are clear of all restrictions, the sky will be your limit.
Gemini: New Year’s Day is always an ideal time to focus on new beginnings, but for you, this particular new year is even riper with “new start” potential than usual. Jupiter is halfway through your sign, suggesting that if you haven’t already made a significant change, then now is the time to start moving toward greater fulfillment. For you, this New Year marks the beginning of a journey into the unknown, and all you need is a little faith to cast off your baggage and step lightly and freely onto a new path. Jupiter states quite clearly that you are the master of your own destiny, so you must now take your own life into your own hands, and make the choices that will result in your growth as well as your joy.
Cancer: The good news for you is that 2013 is the year in which you are given the opportunity to change your life for the better. Jupiter will move into your sign in the summer, starting a process of positive change and new adventures. Of course, as with any manifestation process, you have to take action, so the beginning of the new year is the ideal time to write down your goals and wishes for the future. When you have written them down, write a short paragraph for each one outlining the steps you can take to make it happen along with any other detail you think necessary. Once you are committed to changing your life, the universe will work with you to help you make those changes in a way that feels easy and joyful.
Leo: The start of the new year is the ideal time to turn over a new leaf, and with a powerful combination of planets in your work, health and daily habits area, your changes for lasting change and transformation are vastly increased. If there’s a change you need to make or a habit you’d like to drop, be resolute and there’s every chance you’ll succeed. If you think about what you’d like to accomplish over the year and begin making a small plan of action, you’ll be in prime position for turning things around. The temptation might be to carry on putting things off or to believe that you’re powerless to effect a change when, actually, you’re not. Remember that where there’s a will, there’s a way, so as you welcome in 2013, you’re in a good position to change your life, and if you put your focus on your home, family, friends, groups and wishes for the future, all the while believing that your hopes are possible, then this could turn out to be a magical year.
Virgo: During 2013 there are many opportunities for success and achievement – a new direction, even –as well as a wider scope for study, fun, romance and creativity, but as you stand at the beginning of this powerful new year, what might be most apparent is your growing need to live a truly authentic life. In fact, this theme will grow in strength during January, but it’s in this first week that you might feel the stirrings of a need for change. Perhaps there is some area of your life that doesn’t feel right –perhaps it no longer reflects who you really are, so the question to ask yourself is: How much longer are you going to keep compromising yourself? Destiny is on your side this year, so any changes that you make in alignment with your heart will carry the seal of approval of the heavens and as a result, a successful transition is all but guaranteed. As you begin 2013, you might just need to remind yourself that time is precious, so why waste another moment not living it to the fullest?
Libra: There is much for you to feel optimistic about as you welcome in the New Year, even though you might not feel that way right now. January is likely to see you in introspective mode as some quite deep emotions come to the surface for healing. This is a very transformative month for you, and anything that you can do to facilitate the healing process, whether physical or emotional, will render you much more able to capitalize on all the possibilities and potential that 2013 has for you, which includes adventure, success, achievement and a more secure financial status. During this first week, do what you can to let go of the past, whether this involves painful issues with family members, your childhood, or other painful memories. Let them all go with love and forgiveness. Anything that you find you need help with, try the “Ho’oponopono” ancient Hawaiian system of healing in which you say this whenever you feel the need: “I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you.” This is a powerful method for releasing all wounds and for bringing about healing. In and among your healing work, try to find the time to write down your goals and hopes for the future, since 2013 is likely to be one of the best years you’ve had in quite a while.
Scorpio: Twenty thirteen looks set to be a year of transformation and new beginnings for you. Saturn’s journey through your sign will instill in you a need for constructive change, and everything that comes to an end will be replaced with something new. Perhaps there are one or two things in your life that feel a bit tired and so it’s easy to imagine these things making way for the new. Since yours is the sign of transformation, you should find the events of this year to be a satisfying challenge, and the more ready you are to embrace change, the easier and more enjoyable it will be. This first week in January is likely to see you entertaining some rather deep and serious thoughts, which is fine if they are leading you somewhere. What you need to watch out for is a tendency to slide toward melancholy. Remember the power of your mind –that your thoughts create your reality so as 2013 kicks off, remember to keep a watchful eye on your thinking, as it will set the tone for the year ahead.
Sagittarius: You may not feel like charging full steam ahead into 2013 which would be rather uncharacteristic of your normal optimistic spirit, but perhaps you have one or two doubts. Perhaps you’re wondering whether the path you’re taking is actually the right one. Or maybe there’s a situation that you feel is difficult to change. Actually, much of this simply comes down to your perceptions, so if you feel stuck or if you’re having doubts about something, remind yourself that with an adjustment in your thinking, your whole outlook will change. This will be a year in which the veils of illusion are stripped away, allowing you to see things more clearly than ever before, and maybe that’s what’s at the root of your caution. You know that things are going to change for you this year and you might be wondering if you’re going to have to face some uncomfortable facts. Actually, there’s nothing to worry about. Taking a chance or making a change is going to be good for you while allowing the draining elements of your life to dissolve will free up your energy for other things. This is also the year in which a special relationship looks set to blossom while your private, spiritual world is going to become a hidden gem.
Capricorn: There is a letting go theme to the beginning of the year, so if there’s anything that you don’t want to take with you into 2013, release it now. Sometimes it’s not easy to let go of things, especially painful episodes and our fears, but the planets are supporting you and making it easier than normal to move on. Once you’ve let go of what no longer serves you, you can then turn your attention to what you would like to create in 2013, bearing in mind that your themes for the year are your health and well-being, relationships (including groups and friendships) and your role in society and the community. Encapsulating all of this are your hopes and wishes for the future, and if you have prepared the ground for your future dreams to take root, then this year is likely to see the blossoming of all your hard work.
Aquarius: There’s a distinctly spiritual and metaphysical flavor to the start of your year as the planets gather in your zone of the soul. Before we contemplate the themes for your year ahead, it might be a good idea to acknowledge the importance of your spiritual development, as the more able you are to allow your soul to come through, the more naturally you will find yourself doing exactly what you need to be doing. It is time to trust your impulses and make space for quiet contemplation so the voice of your higher self can guide you. Then you can begin to focus on your big themes for 2013 –namely your vocation and professional ambitions, creative ventures, children and your health and well being. Mars, currently in your sign, gives you all the energy and motivation you need to decide what exactly you would like to manifest this year and to start taking action now.
Pisces: As you stand on the dawn of the new year, you would be justified in feeling a little satisfied with the part you’re playing in this game of life. Perhaps it feels as though it’s all starting to come together; maybe you’re getting a sense that you’re approaching a peak at which everything you’re worked for will come to fruition. It’s also probable that you’re currently on a healing journey either as a healer yourself or tending to your own issues, and this is a journey that will take you to new places of understanding. As you begin this new year you are in a position from which you have a lot to offer others and, consequently, you may feel more of a need to connect with other people and help them along their own paths to healing and awakening. This will be a theme throughout 2013, as will your home, family, creativity and self-expression, along with the potential for lots of fun and enjoyment. 2013 looks like a good year for you and the more you can adopt an attitude of playfulness, the more magical your life will become.
