Anyone who has read Anne Rice, is aware that the Vampire Lestat often refers to the Akashic Records before choosing an object of his ‘affections.’ The Akashic Records know all. They are the compilation of events and responses concerning human consciousness in all realities since the beginning of time. So where are these records that have a tremendous influence on our daily lives, relationships, our feelings and belief systems? This repository of information for human consciousness for the past, present and future is stored in the aether; that is, on a non-physical plane of existence.
“Akasha” derives from two Tibetan or northern Indian words –“aka” meaning space or storage place and “sa,” meaning secret or hidden.” Although the earliest historical evidence of this term derives from about 7500 BCE, the Akashic Records themselves are said to have existed since the beginning of the planet, known by a variety of names –Cosmic Mind, Universal Mind, “Book of Life” – in a variety of cultures from pre-Buddhist priests in the Himalayans to Edgar Cayce, the famous mystic and psychic from Kentucky. Actually, the term itself, “Akashic Records,” originated with the 19th century Theosophy movement, but its founder, Madame Blavatsky, merely gave a name to the ancient concept that each soul wrote or recorded every moment of its existence in a “book” and that if one attuned oneself properly, they could read or view that book.
In modern terms, the Akashic Records can be described as the original “world wide web,” accessible to all though accessed by few and instead of individual web pages stored in a computer system and connected by electricity, the Records are a nonphysical etheric energy system where an individual’s “webpage” is stored on the ethers, and can be viewed or read if you know how to attune to the correct frequency. To gain access into the Akashic Records, every individual human can become the physical medium. Various techniques i.e. yogic breathing and visualizations can be employed to quiet the mind, stop judgment, become a witness and achieve the focused, preconscious state necessary to access the Records.
The preconscious state is that state of awareness just before waking up and just before falling asleep. It corresponds to the Theta brain frequency that is 4-8 cycles per second. Waking consciousness is Beta frequency (14-35 cycles per second) and meditation and relaxation correspond to Alpha frequency (8 –14 cycles per second). Trance, hypnosis, deep daydreams, lucid dreaming and light sleep also occur during Theta frequency.
The Akashic Records are referred to by Edgar Cayce, who stated that each person is held to account after life and confronted with their personal Akashic Record of what they have/have not done in life in a karmic sense. Bear in mind this is not a process evaluated by the limited earth plane mind –the brain –but one fathomed by the higher mind out of the magical mystical world of the super consciousness.
The Akashic Records contain the entire history of every soul since the dawn of Creation. These records connect each one of us to one another. They contain the stimulus for every archetypal symbol or mythic story that has ever deeply touched patterns of human behavior and experience. They have been the inspiration for dreams and invention. They draw us toward or repel us from one another. They mold and shape levels of human consciousness. They are a portion of the Divine Mind. They are the unbiased judge and jury that attempt to guide, educate, and transform every individual to become the very best that she or he can be. They embody an every changing fluid array of possible futures that are called into potential as we humans interact and learn from the data that has already been accumulated.” Edgar Cayce
