Someone sent me this article criticizing the psychic industry and I just had to comment because obviously she does not understand what it means to be psychic.
First of all, we are not an industry to be compared with you car mechanic. We are individuals dedicated to helping ourselves and other humans understand our world.
We sometimes choose our Spirit name instead of our given name because it helps us get in touch with that essence that is more than human. We are not trying to hide behind a alias, but naming our true self from our soul and our spirit guides.
As far as wearing costumes, we feel the freedom to wear what our spirit dictates rather what society expects of us. When I moved to Sedona 20 years ago, I had a garage sale and sold all my business suits. I no longer had to dress for that job. I was free to be my creative self. Free to wear comfortable free flowing garments that were not restricting my ability to relax and get in touch with my higher self.
As far as charging by the minute, I agree that is not a honest practice. Because the client is not keeping time and might be shocked in the end. Here at the Center we charge by 15 minute increments and ask if you would like to go longer. You may need an hour and $100 is what most professionals charge. Our psychics are professionals and have spent as many hours learning their craft as many doctors and nurses.
As far as testimonials ,there are a lot of ways to tell if it’s a real opinion. TripAdvisor, Facebook, Four Square, and others have strict guidelines and are probably more reliable than the psychic hot line data. Although occasionally a person might get upset if we don’t tell them what they want to hear, We have to tell the truth as we know it. Staying in our integrity is very important. We ask our clients to try to get into their feeling about a particular reader, rather than just what sounds good.
It’s important to pick a psychic with a good reputation. Our Center has been in business for over 20 years. That should say something. If your coming to Sedona, you might want to stay away from those I call coffee shop psychics. These are people who hang out in coffee shops and strike up conversations to get potential clients. They are usually not reliable.
Trust your own intuition. You know when someone isn’t being truthful. Rely on your feelings and don’t become dependent on another to make decisions for you. We are here to point you in the right direction, not to remove curses or any other nonsense . Lastly, ask your own higher self to give you a sign to point you in the right direction.
