About 24 years ago, I was awakened by spirit. Perhaps you have heard of “automatic writing “. It’s a spiritual term referring to a higher power working through a human body. I had no plan or even a clue what I would be doing in the dilapidated 4-Unit Condo. It was a mess. When I called the realtor to present my offer, he said “Please let me show you something else.” I told him he didn’t understand, it was a spiritual thing. A higher power was in charge. He laughed, shook his head and said “Okay”.
I had no money for repairs, or stock. My husband (at the time) thought I was crazy. But it was like I was on a mission. I had to do this. Friends and people just showed up to help. We washed toilets, shoveled mud. I ordered carpet, with no money to pay for it. When the installers showed up, I told them I had no money. They said, don’t worry, you’ll pay us someday. One of my friends was a handyman, he and my son, literally pulled the fallen back porches back on the building. It was a miracle in progress.
That mural, I have no idea where that idea came from, but when the town opposed it and the artist community fought it, news teams from all over the valley came up to cover the fight. I couldn’t have paid for all that publicity. It was like miracle after miracle. And it was never about the money for me, I didn’t get a paycheck for three years.
When I first came to Sedona, there wasn’t one Psychic Reader making a living doing their spiritual work. Psychic abilities work through the right side of the brain and so many of them are unemployable and unable to do simple left brain things like balancing a check book. When I hired Susan to do the bookkeeping, she is totally left brain; she said she would work for pizza. She knew I couldn’t pay her what she was worth.
Our landlords somehow understood all this and worked with me through the hard times, like the three years of road building which put many other businesses on SR 179 out of business. The factory stores never recovered. But we are still here. I believe it’s because we give more than we take. The products we sell feed people who otherwise would starve. And many families benefit from that good karma.
This year I lost my son. This week I lost one of my best friends and spiritual psychic of twenty four years, Scottie Littlestar. When I first met Scottie, she had no home, a broken down car and very little money, but over the years, she has become a legend because of all the people she has helped. The Center gave her and hundreds of others an opportunity to help humanity and make a difference in our world.
Some of the other people, who worked at the Center over the years, were just about the money. Their ego and greed takes over and they don’t last at the Center or even in Sedona .The universal law of attraction doesn’t support that behavior. Spirit guided us to this special place which centuries earlier was used by ancient people as a ceremonial site. We were guided by Spirit to open the Center at this place which is now the heart of spirituality in Sedona.
