First Quarter Moon in Scorpio on August 15 arouses our moods in deep and impassioned ways. Intense exchanges between people leave strong impressions. This waxing Quarter Moon of Scorpio continues to bring our moods to a strange and intense level of existence. Don’t go looking for trouble or you’ll surely find it, and this brand of trouble has teeth! The waxing Scorpio Moon often brings out strong sexual appetites and desires. This is a good time to get in touch with one’s creative and imaginative side.
Venus enters Libra (August 16 – September 10) and the course of magnetism, affection and feminine perception begins to focus on harmonizing and balancing relationships, marriages and friendships. Venus in Libra emphasizes the love of books, education, law and order, friends and loved ones and particularly, a love and desire for balance wherever possible. Through dealing, compromising and attempting more sensitivity to others, living with and showing affection to those with whom we have chosen to be, becomes the focus of this time.
Mercury conjunct Mars (August 19 – September 4) brings the forces of communication (Mercury) together with the forces of action (Mars). This aspect brings words and deeds together, and in this case, the greatest action occurs with communication and is empowered in the expression of the message. This is an excellent conjunction to get others motivated through speech and to actively clarify your intentions through communication.

Aries:
Life is much easier when we have people around who help, encourage and support us. As the Moon grows full in your friendship zone, you’re about to find out who your true friends are. Whether it’s a minor difficulty or a substantial problem, someone is waiting to step in and help you, which could provide the turning point you need. Of course, Aries is a sign that doesn’t easily accept help. You prefer to be the strong one helping others, but whether the help comes in the form of inspiration, guidance, advice, or just someone who’s there for you when you need it, the events of the week will remind you that it’s time to prioritize those who elevate and support you.
Taurus:
Your direction in life has been an ongoing theme for much of the year. Expect to be cast into the limelight for a little while, and enjoy, if you can, the attention. Confidence is the key to success now, but don’t let that slide into hubris or complacency. Keep putting in the effort and stay modest but confident in your abilities, and you should end the week on a positive note. Venus, the ruler of your Horoscope, will have her solstice from the 16th to the 19th. She pauses in the heavens and then changes direction (in latitude), so there is a pause in your affairs and then a change of direction. This is a good pause – a pause that refreshes.
Gemini:
“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes but in having new eyes” (Marcel Proust). Whether you can get away and explore new territories or not, this week is indicative of a more optimistic time when you will be more attuned to possibilities and opportunities, and it will feel that life is opening up. There might be a positive development that broadens your horizons. To make the most of this, push yourself out of your comfort zone and try something new or move on from what has been to what could be.
Cancer:
Clearing out is the theme of the week. We are all like computers in the sense that we accumulate stuff as the months and years go by, and over time we can become weighed down and clogged up. This is why older people generally have less energy than the young. Perhaps you could benefit from a physical detox to clear yourself of toxins, an emotional cleansing to forgive and let go of old pains and grievances, or an environmental cleansing to get rid of your clutter. Set your mind on purging and purifying to have a real sense of resolution and a noticeable increase in energy.
Leo:
Much of your time is about juggling your own needs and desires with what you have to do and the needs of others. As the Moon grows toward fullness in your relationship zone, matters could come to a head. This will be a relief, as things can be cleared and resolved, and there might even be a successful outcome. Your health is still relatively good. Yes, three long-term planets are in stressful alignment, but the short-term planets are not supporting them. Continue to enhance your health: avoid worry and anxiety. Cultivate faith. This will do much to strengthen your heart and your other bodily functions.
Virgo:
“Never hurry. Take plenty of exercise. Always be cheerful. Take all the sleep you need. You may expect to be well” (James Freeman Clarke). We don’t realize how important our health is until we’ve lost it and with Saturn and Jupiter in your health zone, it could be time to pay greater attention to your physical well-being. Perhaps take one part of the prescription above – the part that might be most neglected for you – and see whether you can work on it. If you’re always in a rush, try to slow down and enjoy the process. If you find yourself sliding into complaining or negative thinking, try to adopt a more upbeat and cheerful state of mind.
Libra:
In police dramas, you often hear a detective say that he or she is following a hunch. Often this hunch – or intuitive feeling – turns out to be correct. This week, you might need to follow a hunch, especially if you have a problem or dilemma where logic points you in one direction and your feelings in another. It is important this week to trust your senses. If something doesn’t feel right, trust that feeling, and if you get a good feeling, move toward it.
Scorpio:
Everything begins at home, and although we can’t change the past, we can certainly change the present. It is time to let go of all that has been and focus on strengthening your current situation. Bring things to fruition domestically and personally and try to create greater integrity in your home life. Is there a relationship that needs more of your attention? Does your home need more of your time, presence or care? Or do you need to come home to yourself and remember who you really are? If you really think about any areas of weakness at a fundamental level, it will be surprisingly easy to put things right.
Sagittarius:
You have two main challenges this week. The first is to learn patience – especially in career matters and the second challenge is balancing career ambitions/obligations with family responsibilities. Each has an equal pull on you. You can’t ignore either so you shuttle back and forth between the two. It’s easy to get caught up in judgments, but that rarely makes the situation better. Right now, what will work is a flexible and open-minded approach that allows all things to be as they are rather than labeling them as right or wrong.
Capricorn:
Life isn’t always the easiest when the Sun journeys through the deepest, darkest area of the chart, and you might have felt tested these days. Try to see any adversity not as a trial you could do without but as something that will strengthen your character or as a lesson to be learned. This week there will be a natural conclusion to all that has recently been going on, and it won’t be long before life becomes a lot less arduous and a lot lighter.
Aquarius:
Most of us are very good at creating distractions so that we don’t have to experience what’s really going on deep inside. We might walk into a room and turn on the TV, listen to the radio in the car, or constantly mess around with our phones and other electronic devices. We might fill our days with things to do or unconsciously create dramas that keep our attention fixed on what is outside of us. But why not spend time with yourself to identify your needs, wants and unresolved issues? Don’t be in a hurry to avoid an encounter with yourself, because a little bit of honest reflection and inner work could prove very productive.
Pisces:
When something is hidden, we either don’t know it’s there or have a vested interest in keeping it from sight. The problem is that the thing in question gains power over us, saps our energy and cuts us off from a vital source of inspiration. You can have opportunities for a partnership or joint venture this week. You will prosper but you might not enjoy the ways that you prosper so you might need to sacrifice some of your personal interests and desires and see what develops as a result.
