The Money Frog – also called Three Legged Toad or Frog – has become the holy creature of Feng Shui, protecting against misfortune and promising abundance in wealth.
Chinese legends tell that the Money Frog was originally the wife of a legendary figure who stole the Elixir of Immortality from the Goddess of the West. The naturally greedy wife was punished for her act by the other deities of the heaven who transformed her into a three-legged frog and sent her to stay in the moon.
Traditionally, the Money Frog is depicted holding a Chinese coin in its mouth and sitting on lots of gold ingots, coins and wealth. It can be placed in many places to multiply wealth and build prosperity. For businessmen who want success, the Money Frog is a must to be placed at cash registrars, shop reception, treasurer’s desk and safe, and any part of the business premise that deals with money and customers.
In the home, the money frog is kept in the corner diagonally across from the entrance to a room. The corner of a room is known to be the focal point where Qi, or positive energy gathers. To invite more wealth, luck, additional sources of income and career growth that eventually leads to more income, set several Money Frogs randomly in your living room or garden. Feng Shui Masters believe the froggies go out in the afternoon to collect money and return at night with lots of money sticking on their feet so they should be treated like frogs and not deities.
Deities are placed on a higher level as a measure of respect, but Money Frogs should be placed on the floor or at low levels, under chairs, tables and sofas or any other isolated places. If they are placed too high, they might be afraid to jump down and go out to look for money. And they should face inward, never outward as you want wealth to come in, not go out of your house.
Do not place money frogs in bedrooms, kitchen and toilets. Bedrooms are related to love and relationships. Kitchens suppress good luck; the toilet drains away good luck. To invite constant cash flow and double the income of your home, you may put two Money Frogs on each side of the entrance inside your premises with their heads looking in and not out.
Money Frogs are a must to enhance your “Sheng Chi” direction. “Sheng Chi” refers to auspicious vibrant energy that brings a good start in any undertakings to enhance your personal wealth sector. How many Money Frogs?
The best number of Money Frogs to have in your living room or garden is nine because it represents bringing in money from all directions of the compass.
Place them randomly and discreetly under your table, behind the sofa, below the coffee table etc.
Ensure that each Money Frog faces a different direction of the compass in the living room and one near your front door hopping inward to bring in lots of wealth and money.
If nine frogs is not possible, three or six are good numbers too.
